Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Submitted manuscripts to the International Journal of Multidisciplinary and Applied Studies (IJMDAS) should adhere to basic standards for readability and interpretation by the Editorial team. Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria will be returned to the authors.

Original/Research Articles

These articles present unpublished research, including detailed methods, methodologies, and findings supported by evidence.

Sections typically include:

  • Introduction: States the research objectives and background.
  • Methods: Describes research design, participant selection, and data collection methods.
  • Results: Presents key findings with appropriate statistical analysis.
  • Conclusions: Discusses the implications of the research and possible future directions.

Review Articles

Comprehensive reviews of the literature on a particular research topic, summarizing and analyzing trends, challenges, and progress.

Case Reports

Detailed descriptions of clinical cases, including symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes, often with novel insights.

Editorials

Short opinion pieces written by the editorial board or guest editors, offering perspectives on topical issues.

Commentaries

In-depth discussions on specific research, offering critical analysis or proposing solutions to challenges.

Corrigendum

Corrections or clarifications of previously published work due to author errors.

Expert Opinion

Articles by subject matter experts that propose new research ideas or perspectives on existing issues.

Letters to the Editor

Letters addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, providing feedback, commentary, or critique of articles published in the journal.

Perspective Articles

Authors’ view points on topics relevant to the journal’s focus, offering personal insights or predictions.

Manuscript Structure

Cover Letter, Title Page, Abstract and Keywords, Main Content, Acknowledgments, References, Tables and Figures

Cover Letter

A cover letter should accompany your manuscript submission, addressed to the Editor-in-Chief or Special Issue editor. It should include:

  • Title of the article.
  • A brief statement explaining why the article is appropriate for International Journal of Multidisciplinary and Applied Studies International Journal of Multidisciplinary and Applied Studies (IJMDAS).
  • Confirmation of no concurrent submissions to other journals.
  • Article type and whether it is related to any previous submissions.
  • Details of any conference presentations or events related to the work.

Title Page

  • Full title of the manuscript (max 130 characters).
  • Running title (max 75 characters).
  • Authors’ names and institutional affiliations.
  • Corresponding author’s contact details (email, phone).
  • Clinical trial or grant information (if applicable).
  • Word count of the manuscript.

Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: A concise summary (max 300 words) of the study’s background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 3-5 relevant keywords (listed alphabetically) for indexing purposes.

Abbreviations

  • Use standard abbreviations. Define non-standard abbreviations upon first use in the abstract and main text.
  • Abbreviations in tables and figures should be defined in the corresponding legends.

Conflicts of Interest

A statement regarding any potential conflicts of interest that could affect the interpretation of results or conclusions.

Acknowledgments

Acknowledge any contributors who do not meet authorship criteria but provided significant help in research, writing, or other aspects. Include funding sources, if applicable.

References

  • References should be listed on a separate page and numbered consecutively.
  • Use Arabic numerals in parentheses for in-text citations.
  • List references in the order they appear in the text.
  • Journal names should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus/Medline.
  • Use "in press" for unpublished studies that are accepted for publication.

Tables

  • Prepared using the table function in Microsoft Word.
  • Tables should not duplicate data presented in the text.
  • Number tables consecutively and include references within tables where necessary.

Figure Legends

  • Legends should include a brief but clear explanation of each figure.
  • Figures should be cited in numerical order within the text.

Figures and Illustrations

  • Figures should be numbered in the order they are cited in the text.
  • Include brief titles and submit images in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Submit figures as separate files (.jpg, .png).
  • Clinical images involving patient data require signed consent or anonymization.

Supplementary Material

Additional files supporting the manuscript (e.g., extended data, supplementary tables, figures, etc.) should be submitted as supplementary material.

Submission Process

  • Authors are encouraged to verify the manuscript's suitability for International Journal of Multidisciplinary and Applied Studies (IJMDAS) before submission.
  • Submissions should be made via the online submission system or by email in .docx or .pdf format.
  • Include the cover letter, manuscript, figures, tables, and supplementary materials as required.
  • Authors are encouraged to suggest potential reviewers.

Initial Quality Check

  • Submissions will undergo an initial check for plagiarism or duplicate submission.
  • Articles will then undergo a peer review process (4-6 weeks).
